This weekend I attended a two-day course at Ride MSS where I learned how to drive a motorcycle. It was the first time I’d ever driven a motorcycle, although my dad says when I was little he used to sit me in front of him on his motorcycle and he let me steer for a bit. At the end of the course you take a written test and a driving test which gets you a waiver to use at the DMV, so you can become fully licensed. The teachers were great, they were strict but still made it fun not to mention VERY skilled drivers (although at one point one instructor put her helmet on backwards).
Riding a motorcycle is hard, but it’s a LOT of fun. It’s so much more physical than driving a car. The actual act of driving a motorcycle is enjoyable and feels a lot more like a sport.
Anyway, I got a perfect score on the written and the second-highest score in the class for the driving test. Out of 12 students, only one failed the test, and that was because he dropped his bike during the test. I’m really happy.
Before I was thinking I’d wait longer to get a bike, but now… I’m going to go look this weekend.
