Stephen Heskett - Starving Actor

Content

In the summer of 2000 I did my first film. I really lucked out, it’s actually really good and I had a lead role. It was accepted at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

This is my director Doug Underdahl setting up a shot . He fabricates movie equipment, and I believe that crane is an invention of his.

Let me tell you a story about a sheltered stage actor:When he was a wee lad training his heart out at the classical acting program at AMDA he rarely saw, much less trained with much film equipment. When this naive young thespian learned he was cast in a feature film, he thought, “No prob! I’m a fairly good actor, and film acting can’t be that different than stage acting! Actually, it’s probably easier!” Boy was he wrong.

Boy was I wrong. Look at all that stuff.

Here is the back of the head of the incomparable Chuck Worthington (don’t worry ladies, I gots more pics of him that I will post later) and the front of the marvelous Christi Kelsey getting ready to film a scene at a party.

Not pictured is Stephanie Paul and my good friend Ethan Aronoff, who is so cool, he has his own page on the Internet Movie DataBase.
